The court-assigned receiver tasked with selling Burke Mountain Resort said a group that went public this week with its desire to buy the resort couldn’t seal the deal last year because of their “bad faith” and “last minute” attempt to renegotiate terms. The resort is under the control of Goldberg, of Florida, and has been since 2016 through a court order. Goldberg reported to the North Star Monthly that he had a “viable buyer” for the resort. Green Mountain Ski Partners Todd Firestone and Mark Greenberg knew that he wasn’t referring to them, and they were concerned that the process of a public auction was being lost to Goldberg’s negotiation of a private sale.
